OUR MISSION
WHAT WE DO
Family Preparedness,
One Family at a Time
Emergency Documents
We help families complete three critical documents: General Power of Attorney, Power of Attorney for a Minor, and G-28 (Request for Attorney).
Community Partnerships
We partner with UIAC, No Mas, Catholic Community Services, and faith organizations so trusted groups can help families.
Bilingual volunteers and notaries help families complete documents in person, at no cost. Local libraries also offer free notary services.
Why These Documents.
Why Now.
When a parent is detained, bills go unpaid, bank accounts become inaccessible, and critical decisions cannot be made by anyone.
General Power of Attorney
Even a close relative has no legal standing to pick your children up from school, take them to a doctor, or enroll them in a new school year — unless this document exists.
Power of Attorney for a Minor
By the time their loved ones find out what happened, the detained person may have no phone access and no way to authorize a lawyer to help them.
G-28 (Request for Attorney)
